Research Seminar:- Structures of Active Galactic Nucleus(AGN) accretion disks: go beyond the alpha disk model
The alpha disk model is widely used to describe the accretion disk structures around supermassive black holes, even though it cannot explain many observed properties of AGNs. The speaker will describe their series of global 3D radiation MagnetoHydroDynamic(MHD) simulations of AGN accretion disks over a wide radial range with a variety of accretion rates. He will also discuss how the simulated disks are different from the standard disk model.
