Introduction to Astronomy(HS-PHYS1000)
This is an introductory course on astronomy, including both the observational aspect of the field and a descriptive survey of the solar system, the Sun, stars, galaxies and the universe. Selected special topics such as neutron stars, black holes and dark matter will also be included.

Topics covered include the observational aspect of astronomy (including constellations and planets), the physics of our solar system, and our own Sun, stars and their evolution, galaxies, black holes, and cosmology. It also provides students with a basic understanding of the relationship of the science of astronomy to life, and how our nature works on the macroscopic level.
