IAS Program on Particle Theory:- Gravitational Wave Implications to Fundamental Physics
Since their first direct discovery in 2015, gravitational waves have contributed significantly to knowledge about astrophysics and fundamental physics. This talk will first introduce the Open Gravitational-wave Catalog(OGC), which is an independent search result using open-source software and public Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory(LIGO) and Virgo data. Then the talk will discuss the use of gravitational waves to test general relativity’s parity violation and search for black hole ringdown modes.
