Seminar:- I-Love-Q and Binary Love 

Neutron stars are not only characterized by their mass and radius, but also by how fast they spin, through their moment of inertia, and how much they can be deformed, through their Love number and quadrupole moment. These depend sensitively on the star's internal structure, and thus on unknown nuclear physics. In spite of this, we have found quasi-universal (I-Love-Q) relations between the moment of inertia, the Love number and the quadrupole moment that are independent of the neutron star's internal structure. Based on this, we have also found relations between the Love numbers of components in a binary system that are also approximately universal. In this talk, I will describe these relations and how they can be used to test General Relativity in an equation-of-state independent way, to extract the individual deformabilities of each neutron star in a binary and to measure the Hubble constant with gravitational waves.
